This year’s 1st annual Mommy and Me Brunch-Mother’s Day Celebration was a day full of glamour and grace. Sponsored by our very own Bishop Noel Jones and The New Generation Women’s Ministry, the event was a groundbreaking way to uplift and unite mothers by incorporating classic style, music, charity, fashion, and the most heavenly display of refreshments.  The event welcomed guests as they entered with some of the most fashion forward spring dresses, hats, and suits. Each guest was greeted with the elegance of an ebony grand piano playing in the lobby accompanied by a saxophonist serenading the crowd as they enjoyed light refreshments.

Bishop Jones and First Lady Loretta initiated the fun with raffling a slew of gifts from gift cards, iPads, air fryers, and more.  After Bishop’s blessing, the excitement continued to build as the attention turned over to the opening of the church’s new restaurant/women’s tea room. The restaurant is filled with breathtaking color schemes, a state-of-the-art kitchen, and a vivid resemblance of an enchanted garden. The women were able to partake in a divine charcuterie board, Tiffany & Co. inspired desserts, while our First Lady gracefully mingled through the crowd. Lady Loretta interacted with the women at the Vogue photo booth and offered a special impromptu book signing of her very own “Oh Taste and See Cookbook.”

The men in attendance were also served bountifully with some of the most soulful food from tender oxtails, savory mac-n-cheese, succulent string beans , and more inside of their very own man cave. From start to finish, this all-inclusive Mother’s Day event touched hearts while allowing everyone in attendance to feel a sense of elegance and appreciation.

With all the fun, surprises, and giveaways our church is known for, we look forward with high anticipation for the next event that will be hosted at The City. Father’s get ready!
